Now our partnership with The Fighting Chance Foundation is firmly cemented, Lucinda Nicholls has recently assisted with seminars and interviews to provide knowledge of the law when dealing with unexpected situations that occur on the street.
An in-depth interview formed part of the day which is to be used by the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association to inform instructors and students regarding self-defence, reasonable force, and the use of weapons.
As part of the day’s events, Lucinda also assisted with content for the #PunchLikeAGirl programme, the first of its kind within the martial arts industry aimed at empowering women and girls. From boosting grassroots participation broadly to directly targeting domestic abuse and violence, the focus is to engage females to tackle these inequalities with the learning of combat sports.
Lucinda has boxed since her teenage years due to a heavy influence from her grandfather who actively worked in professional high profile corners at large boxing events around the world. In recent years, she has progressed into Muay Thai, the national sport of Thailand; a form of kickboxing but with the use of elbows, knees and the clinch. It was only natural for her to be part of this project as a result.
