After nearly two years of relentless effort, our trainee solicitor, Alaa Suleiman, obtained an outstanding result in what has been an extremely challenging case undertaken against our client by a private prosecutor.
Our client faced serious allegations; several charges of perjury & fraud. The claim alleged that our client falsely offered over £2 million in loans to two companies and obtained an advance payment of over £300k.
Months of rigorous investigation led us to compile a comprehensive bundle exceeding 900 pages of exhibits and evidence to support our clients claim that this was a vexatious prosecution.
Our commitment to justice paid off when the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) reviewed our submission and they informed the court there was no reasonable prospect of conviction, recognising the case as a vexatious prosecution.
As a result, the case was dropped and Not Guilty verdicts were formally entered onto court record. This outcome reaffirms our dedication to defending our clients against unfounded allegations. We are especially pleased to have a happy and relieved client.
As always, Nicholls & Nicholls works as a team and instructs barristers specifically on cases. This time we were able to retain Mr Jonathan Underhill of 3PB barrister chambers who excelled in assisting our retired client.
Nicholls & Nicholls ensure all areas of a case are investigated thoroughly and properly. This is another example of the expert work undertaken by the firm.
